It all started on Tuesday.... I was working and had been contracting all day (same as usual), but decided to go to labor and delivery and get checked out. They checked me.. 5cm 80%, so not much change from my prior check, but they kept me to see if the contractions would turn into actual labor. This was around 3pm when I went to L&D, around 5pm the contractions got extremely more painful but were only 5-7 min apart, they checked me but no change. Gave me a shot of morphine and said I could go home if I wanted. I chose to go home and try to sleep. We went home around 8pm and I tried to sleep, but was in too much pain, I could sleep in between each contraction but they were sooo bad, it was unbearable. Around 2am I just couldn't take the pain any longer and went back to the hospital, they checked me and still i was only 5cm. At this point I was begging for an epidural, the pain was so intense during the contractions, but they wouldn't give me one, until they were sure that I was actually in labor. This was torture! I was in so much pain, and so scared that they would try to send me home again, I honestly couldn't stand that pain. But I did (not by my choice). Around 6:45am they checked me again, still 5 cm but now 100% effaced. I was so upset that I had not dilated more. The nurse said that she could feel the baby's head and her head was sideways so that is probably why I had not dilated. So they had me turn from side to side to help the baby's head to straighten out. I did and the contractions got even worse... I thought I was going to die... the Dr came in around 7:40am and checked me..... I was now 7-8cm !!!!!!!!! Finally they said I could have the epidural, BUT the anesthesiologist was in surgery and it would be awhile.......NO!!!!!!!!!!! Finally around 9am I was 9cm and got my epidural.. the best thing all night... wow those help so much! I will be getting that for the next delivery, no question.. Around 11am I was fully dilated and started to push. Macy arrived at 11:59am and stayed with me in the room and nursed for the first hour. Then she had to go to NICU for observation, because she was born 4 weeks early. She did very well and was able to come to my room every 3 hours for feedings. Then after 22 hours in observations was transfered to term nursery and was able to stay in my room the rest of the hospital stay.
Born on Wed and home on Friday! So far all is well! She is nursing like a champ, and sleeping well. She is a very calm baby, she doesn't ever cry, just kinda whimpers a little when she is hungry. I love her so much!!! It is the most wonderful feeling to hold her and nurse her!! I never imagined I would feel this much joy from having a baby, it is just the best thing ever!

Any Day Now!!
As of yesterday I am 3-4 cm dilated and 80% effaced!!! We are making progress! I'm now 36 weeks, so I am fine with her coming anytime now! The Dr. said he thinks I will deliver before Friday because my cervix is changing!
So last night I was thinking about all the events that are about to take place...... ahhhhh.... I'm scared! i REALLY hate pain, and I know this is going to hurt a lot. Then I tried to calm myself by reminding myself that I was going to be getting an epidural, but wow have you seen that needle that they put in your back... it's HUGE, that is going to hurt as well. And then after the baby is born.... more pain.. but I just know that it is going to be SOOO worth the pain to finally get to hold my sweet little girl!!! I can't wait!!! But yeah I got about 3 hours of sleep last night, very productive, and now I'm off to work!!

Still Waiting......
I'm 34 weeks now and dilated to 2cm, about 60% effaced. I'm so uncomfortable, they said her head is right up against my cervix so standing and being up-right is painful. I'm still contracting, pretty much everyday. Today it has been every 6 min. but they are not super painful yet. I was put back on bed rest last week because I had a positive fetal fibronectin, a test that predicts if your will deliver within 2 weeks. It's been 10 days since the test and I haven't delivered yet, although the test is only about 50% accurate, I still had to stop working ;( Yesterday at the Dr he said he thought I would deliver within the next 2 weeks, so we will see what happens. Still doing non-stress tests twice a week and so far they have been going well. I go see the perinatologist tomorrow, so I hope that goes well!
We are almost done Christmas shopping!! Still need to put up the tree and decorate. Kinda hard to do when I'm supposed to be "taking it easy", and Bob is in school and working a lot, plus doing clinicals. He can't wait for Macy to come, and he is going to take probably 4-5 weeks off work when she comes home!! That will be so much fun.
I'm working on my patience. It is hard for me I think because it feels like this pregnacy and the 2 miscarriages are combined into one huge/long pregnancy. It has been 18 months since the first pregnancy started and here I am, still pregnant and no baby yet. But soon, soon we will have our sweet baby. I just feel so impatient, but I'm working on it, and super excited that she will be here soon! And I'm very happy that we have made it to 34 weeks+ !!!!
